Why Albukhary?
The Albukhary Foundation, a charitable organisation with a focus on promoting access to top-notch education in Malaysia, has donated funds to make this competitive scholarship based on academic merit and financial need possible. In the past, this scholarship has given each of our scholars £20,000 in financing for the duration of their undergraduate studies. Ten Albukhary scholars visited Warwick in 2020–2021 and 2021–2022, respectively.

What is Albukhary Scholarship?
Albukhary Foundation Scholarship is awarded by the donation from a Malaysian charitable trust, named Albukhary Foundation. It provides the meritorious students with the best education and provides the needy with financial assistance for their higher education as well.
The scholarship provides £20,000 of funding over a period of three years of continuous study. The scholarship will be renewed for each year of the course providing you satisfactorily progress through to the next year of study.
The Albukhary Scholarship Programme, that was developed in 2005, had the intention of providing help to the underprivileged by granting them access to higher education, at no cost. The Albukhary Scholarship nurtures a community in which character building is achieved through an emphasis on community service. When AIU was established, the Albukhary Scholarship Programme catered for students of the University, located in Kedah. This is a competitive Scholarship Programme, where the financial background of prospective students are carefully examined, to ensure the most deserving are not deprived of an opportunity to pursue higher education.
Scholarship Requirements
Upon fulfilling the academic and scholarship criteria, the applicant is called for an interview. Some of the requirements are:
- Age has to be between 18 and 22 years old.
- Single- marital status.
- Household income below:
- USD 300 for international applicant
- MYR 2,400 (Sabah and Sarawak)
- MYR 5,300( W.P Kuala Lumpur, W.P Putrajaya & W.P Labuan)
- MYR 2,900 (Perlis, Kedah, Pulau Pinang, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang).

- Submission of a proof of nationality when the scholarship is offered is non-negotiable.
- The scholarship amount is paid in two instalments each year over a period of three years.
- Scholarships are renewed every year for the minimum duration of the course undertaken.
- Scholarships can be combined with other scholarships.
- All students who need a Student Visa to study are allowed to work for up to 20 hours per week during term time and full time during any vacation periods.

Only a select few persons are awarded the highly competitive Albukhary Foundation Scholarship. Based on:

- Financial need
Only the interview session is used to determine final outcomes. The scholarship pays for three years of education, living expenses, and travel to and from the UK.
The scholarship will be renewed only if the candidate maintains his academic performance for the upcoming year or study.
